FRIDAY FACTS: Cylinder Heads

Engine Cylinder Heads
The Cylinder head is the top half of the engine. This is where the intake and exhaust valves are located. The most common failure for the cylinder head is overheating the engine and warping the head. Make sure to keep plenty of antifreeze in your engine, and if it gets too hot, do not keep driving!

When a timing belt goes bad the piston hits the valves and bends them. The timing belt keeps the valve and pistons in timing with each other.
